Our 2021-2022 Flu Season Benchmarking Study

Our 2021-2022 Flu Season Benchmarking Study

Our 2021-2022 flu season benchmarking study is complete and available for our clients. Take a look and see how your facility did. Do you know what the specialty averages are? Where do you rank relative to facilities in your specialty? How about overall? Did you meet or exceed the vaccination expectations?

Benchmarking is not just a requirement of accrediting agencies such as the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and The Joint Commission (TJC), it’s a critical component of quality assessment and improvement. Each year we track and report seasonal vaccination rates to help our clients assess and improve their vaccination programs. In addition to the annual flu vaccination benchmarking study, we also track vaccination rates for COVID-19 in a separate and ongoing study.

If you’re not currently tracking and trending your flu vaccination rates so that you can modify and improve your program for the following year, we can do that for you. As part of our flu benchmarking study, we collect information that allows us to trend your facility average over the last five years. Why is this important? Because tracking your vaccination rates is one thing, trending them allows you to determine whether or not you are making progress. Trending allows you to make changes to help achieve quality improvement. As usual, quality improvement leads to enhanced patient care.

How do I get the new flu benchmarking study?

For our current clients, there is no action required on your part. You will see the new study in your next report. As always, our benchmarking studies are continually growing and improving, and we strive to provide the most relevant and useful information. To that end, please let us know if there are additional data points or studies you would like to see.
