We provide guidance with an objective voice and work with you to develop processes to make your organization more efficient and prepared for certification and accreditation surveys. We specialize in providing oversight of pharmaceutical services for freestanding and hospital-based ambulatory surgical, endoscopy, renal dialysis centers and senior care facilities with expertise in accreditation success.

Our services are comprehensive and include thorough audits, including OR and PACU inspections, controlled drug management review, chart review, and staff education. Other areas we routinely guide our clients on include, patient safety, anesthesia and code cart compliance, safe injection practices, proper documentation, and clinical and regulatory updates.

During our audits, we find deficient practices including expired medications, improperly stored and handled medications, poorly labeled medications, documentation issues, among others. Left unaddressed, these issues often lead to survey deficiencies. We help you find areas of concern and fix them in time to avoid problems (both patient and survey).

Not only do we perform these services, but our visits culminate with an extensive report that summarizes our findings and provides action items with corrective guidance, regulatory and clinical updates, policy and procedure recommendations, as well as both regional and national benchmarking. Our benchmarking service is robust, and includes data points like specialty specific averages, industry trends, and numerous drug cost comparisons.

About Our Founder

With over 25 years of industry-leading experience as an expert consultant pharmacist, Victor Alves, PharmD, BCGP, FASCP, established the mission for OctariusRx – safe medication management for ALL patients. He has dedicated his long-tenured career to medication management, patient safety and survey success.

Dr. Alves earned both his Bachelor’s and Doctoral degrees with high honors from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He is a nationally Board-Certified Geriatric Pharmacist and a fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists. He is also a published author and has been a featured speaker at industry conferences.
